Description
This is a spectacular piece for concert performance. Each part of the suite has a program literary subtitle and hints to the listener at the plots of popular Slavic folk tales, such as: the famous character Baba Yaga (she flies on her broomstick), Vasilisa the Beautiful (she is a young, kind, very beautiful girl), Kashchei Bessmortny (he there is an eccentric old man in love, he never dies and he is a bit of an evil wizard), etc.
The suite begins with a lyrical piece by Dolce, setting the listener in a calm saga and narrative way. The last play called Baba Yaga is fast. spectacular and bravura. It depicts the swift flight of Baba Yaga across the sky on her fabulous broomstick. Rather, this broom looks like a jet plane or rocket.
