Description
Symphonic suite for orchestra and reciter. This is a piece of software. Each part is preceded by a literary epigraph from the works of the Church Fathers.
“Adam sat in front of paradise and mourned his nakedness, lamenting: Alas for me, the deceit of the evil one who believed, and robbed, and removed from glory! Alas for me, naked in simplicity and now perplexed! But, oh paradise, I will no longer enjoy your luxury, I will no longer see the Lord and my God and Creator; for I will go to the ground from which I was taken. Merciful, Compassionate, I cry out to You: have mercy on me, the fallen!
(Russian text by Hieromonk Ambrose (Timroth) The birds huddled in their nests,
The world was not breathing at that moment.
Cry before it's too late
Together with Adam, soul.
- Paradise, my Paradise,
Paradise, my Paradise.
All living things, listening to those words,
Wept, Adam, along with you.
Oh, soul, sad and evil,
If only you could bear this pain.
- Paradise, my Paradise,
Paradise, my Paradise.
(Hieromnach Roman (Matyushin) Adam lost the earthly paradise and weeping was looking for it; “My paradise, paradise, my beautiful paradise.” But the Lord, by His love on the cross, gave him another paradise, better than the former one, in heaven, where is the Light of the Holy Trinity.
(Silouan of Athos)
